The typographic constraints and demographic stress facilitate Hong Kong to be a flexible city that keeps adapting and reinventing the imports from the West. The double-decked tram is one of its many European inheritance. For more than a century, the tram has run through the Hong Kong island. Though its development has tightly corresponded to that of the city’s, the tram did not lose the many characteristics of the past.
